How do we react when we come face to face with pressing social issues?
How does technological research register human reactions and convert them into digital data?
How can the raw material of human experience become works of contemporary artistic creation?
“Transition to 8” is a research and development project, which is implemented by the Department of Psychology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the “Athena” Research Center and the MENTOR Cultural Management Company.
The project aims to establish innovative multimedia festivals that will raise awareness on key social issues and motivate large social groups to realize what unites them.
Through a cross-sectoral approach that combines contemporary artistic creation with the humanities, research and innovation, “Transition to 8” utilizes information and communication technologies, sociopsychology, music, and visual arts to redefine the relationship of art with society and lay the foundations for a novel approach to future festivals.
The project is part of the Operational Programme Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation 2014-2020 (EPAnEK) and is co-financed by Greece, the European Union and the Cultural Management Company MENTOR.
