Participatory project: The Wall of Freedom

Proposal Writing

A large-scale participatory project where community members connect with their history and redefine their connection to public space, their relationships with their fellow citizens and their shared references to the collective memory of their place through co-creation.

The project is part of the design of the multidisciplinary cultural programme developed for the Municipality of Messolonghi for the celebrations of the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution and examines the role that cultural heritage and contemporary artistic creation can play in redefining the identity of the city and promoting its contemporary image, based on its historical significance during the Greek Revolution of 1821 and the subsequent events that influenced its development.
