MENTOR in Culture is seeking a Project Manager for the management and development of cultural, artistic, research, educational and European projects.
The position is open both to junior professionals with relevant experience and strong potential for development, and to more experienced professionals who are able to take on a higher level of autonomy and responsibility from the outset.
The exact level of the position, the scope of responsibilities and the remuneration package will be shaped according to the candidate’s actual experience, skills and level of autonomy.

The company collaborates with museums, cultural organisations, public bodies, universities, artists, researchers and international networks in Greece and abroad.
About the role
The Project Manager will participate in the planning, coordination and monitoring of projects at different stages of development and implementation.
The role is not exclusively administrative or supportive. It requires organisational thinking, responsibility, strong written communication skills and the gradual or immediate assumption of meaningful project ownership, depending on the candidate’s level of experience.
The person joining the team will be expected to understand the broader context of each project, organise the necessary actions, monitor deadlines and deliverables, coordinate different collaborators and provide timely updates on needs, delays or risks.
At the same time, they will have the opportunity to participate in proposal writing and in the development of new collaborations and projects.
Key responsibilities
Depending on their experience and the level of the position, the Project Manager will participate in the following:
- planning, organising and monitoring cultural, artistic, research, educational and European projects
- developing and monitoring timelines, deliverables, milestones and next steps
- coordinating the internal team, collaborators, partners, organisations, artists, researchers and suppliers
- monitoring deadlines and providing timely reminders or escalating pending issues when needed
- preparing agendas, minutes, action lists and follow-up actions
- participating in the writing and editing of proposals for national and European funding programmes
- participating in programmes such as Creative Europe, Horizon Europe, CERV and Erasmus+
- collecting information and supporting documents from collaborators and partners
- drafting, editing and organising texts in Greek and English
- supporting or undertaking the preparation of reports, deliverables, presentations and project updates
- providing administrative and basic financial monitoring of projects, in collaboration with management and the relevant partners
- monitoring budgets, expenses, contracts, timesheets and supporting documents, where required
- organising events, conferences, workshops, residencies, cultural productions and participatory actions
- collecting and organising monitoring, evaluation and impact data
- updating MENTOR’s internal systems and project monitoring tools
- systematically using Google Workspace, Asana and the company’s templates
- identifying delays, blockers, risks and needs for decision-making
- proposing practical solutions and next steps
- contributing to the development of new projects, collaborations and funding opportunities
What we are looking for in a junior candidate
We do not expect a junior candidate to have already managed large European projects or complex budgets independently.
However, we are looking for someone who can demonstrate that they:
- have a relevant academic or professional background
- have participated in projects, productions, programmes or organised actions
- can organise information, tasks and deadlines effectively
- write very well in Greek and can work professionally in English
- follow instructions, but do not require constant reminders for every individual task
- ask for clarification in good time when something is not clear
- take responsibility for the quality and timely completion of their work
- can identify problems and communicate them before they escalate
- wish to learn and gradually develop into an autonomous Project Manager
What we are looking for in a more experienced candidate
A more experienced candidate is additionally expected to demonstrate that they:
- have taken meaningful responsibility for projects or significant workstreams
- can coordinate multiple deadlines, collaborators and deliverables
- have experience in writing or coordinating funding proposals
- can undertake reporting, monitoring and basic financial follow-up
- work autonomously and do not require constant micromanagement
- can represent MENTOR professionally in communication with collaborators and organisations
- can support the development of new projects and partnerships
- can guide or support younger members of the team
Required qualifications
- studies in Cultural Management, Project Management, Humanities or Social Sciences, European Studies, Business Administration or another relevant field
- relevant experience in cultural, artistic, research, educational or European projects
- excellent written and oral communication skills in Greek
- very good command of English, with the ability to draft and edit professional texts
- strong organisational skills
- ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- responsibility, consistency, accuracy and attention to detail
- ability to collaborate with different people and professional profiles
- problem-solving skills and ability to communicate risks in good time
- good knowledge of Google Workspace and spreadsheets
- ability to maintain full and stable on-site presence in Athens
- interest in culture, European projects, sustainable development, social innovation and new technologies
Desired qualifications
The following will be appreciated, although candidates are not expected to meet all of them:
- postgraduate degree in Cultural Management, Project Management, European Studies or a related field
- experience in Creative Europe, Horizon Europe, CERV, Erasmus+ or other funded programmes
- experience in proposal writing
- experience in drafting reports or deliverables
- experience in monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment
- experience in administrative or financial project monitoring
- experience in organising cultural productions, events or public programmes
- experience working with public bodies, museums, cultural organisations or universities
- knowledge of Asana or another project management tool
Type of collaboration and availability
The position is full-time and requires stable on-site presence in Athens.
The position constitutes the main professional occupation of the selected collaborator and cannot be combined with another stable full-time position.
Limited parallel academic, teaching, creative or professional activities may be discussed, provided that they do not affect availability, performance or the professional interests of MENTOR.
Due to the nature of the projects, the role may occasionally require:
- presence at events, productions or actions
- professional travel within or outside Greece
- occasional work outside regular working hours, with advance planning and appropriate organisational management
